WATCH GREAT BALLS OF FIRE LIVE

Some may laugh at the Great Balls of Fire name for WWE’s July pay-per-view for the Raw brand, but the match card is incredibly impressive. A pair of heavyweight showdowns featuring four of the top wrestlers on Raw lead the show, which currently stands at eight matches with at least one more likely to be added.

Sunday, July 9 is quickly approaching, and Wwe Great Balls of Fire should set the stage for SummerSlam in August. It is all set to go down live from Dallas beginning at 8 p.m. ET. The kickoff show will start an hour earlier at 7 p.m. ET and all action can be watched live nationally on WWE Network.

WWE Great Balls of Fire matches

Universal Championship — Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Samoa Joe: Business picked up quickly in this feud after Samoa Joe earned the No. 1 contendership at Extreme Rules. Lesnar has only made one appearance on Raw since winning the title at WrestleMania 33.

Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman (Ambulance Match): A returning Strowman made his presence felt at Raw and challenged Reigns to this specific match. General manager Kurt Angle made it soon after.

Women’s Championship — Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Sasha Banks: Figured it would be Bliss-Banks at SummerSlam, but they’re going with it earlier at GBOF. Perhaps this will be a prelude to that match still happening with a stipulation … or as a triple threat.

Intercontinental Championship — The Miz (c) vs. Dean Ambrose: This rivalry is still going on from Extreme Rules — and further back as the superstar shake-up — with Ambrose getting his rematch here.

Seth Rollins vs. Bray Wyatt: The interactions between these two have been continuous, and WWE made the match official over the holiday weekend.

Tag Team Championship — Sheamus & Cesaro (c) vs. The Hardy Boyz (30-Minute Iron Man Match): Though the rematch was never announced in the first place, a stipulation was made for the bout Monday on Raw.

Cruiserweight Championship — Neville (c) vs. Akira Tozawa: Now that Tozawa is being courted by the Titus Brand, he’s received a booked match for the title at the PPV.

Enzo Amore vs. Big Cass: Cass turned on Enzo twice in as many weeks. A match between the two was a sure thing, and it was made official one week before Great Balls of Fire.

On this evening’s Raw, we will find out what the Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 33 will look like. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson currently hold that title, and Cesaro and Sheamus are desperate to win it back. Enzo Amore and Big Cass, however, hope to face Gallows and Anderson and begin their first title run. Who will emerge from the night victorious and head to Orlando with a shot at the title?
Meanwhile, last week’s Raw closed with The Undertaker showing up and confronting Roman Reigns. After Roman declared that this is his yard now, The Undertaker chokeslammed him as the crowd in Chicago cheered and chanted “Roman sucks!” This is clearly leading to a match between the two at WrestleMania, something that was set up in January when Roman eliminated The Undertaker at Royal Rumble. So how will Roman respond to The Undertaker’s statement last week?
Plus, the feud between Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho really escalated last week with a fight between the two former best friends in the ring. We found out on March 6th’s Raw that Jericho and Owens will battle for the United States Championship at WrestleMania. Will we see further development of this feud this evening?
Finally, with Finn Balor returning to the ring at a recent house show, there is rampant speculation that he may appear on this week’s Raw. But with so many WrestleMania storylines well underway, where might Balor fit in?
